As the days draw in and the kit takes an extra half an hour to put on we find ourselves at November’s ride, which will roll out from Brighton’s North Laine area (one of my favourite parts of my home town).

We’ll meet at The Roastery on Sydney Street for some top class coffee before we head out via the gentrified London Road and then leave the city behind as we head into the wilds via Devil’s Dyke and the descent that everyone loves the other side.

From here we’ll roll east via Hassocks and on through the country lanes to Ditchling (this is a Centuries ride, there’ll be no ascending this iconic climb!) and beyond to Barcombe Mills and then Lewes for our mid-ride coffee and snack stop at the excellent Pharmacie in Lewes.

We then head back south through Piddinghoe to Newhaven where turn west back towards Brighton and drop down onto the undercliff path and edge the sea before we finish at the pier for candy floss and doughnuts*.
