RIDE CHARTER

We are all connected, we all link to one another, all rely, depend, need one another for us to be ourselves, to live our lives. Likewise, on rides as in life. As such we deserve trust, acceptance and respect from others.

To that end by joining a Centuries ride we each and all commit to the following charter:

  • Centuries and anyone affiliated has no liability for your safety during a group ride.

  • Each rider takes responsibility for themselves at all times.

  • This is a safe space - if someone feels like sharing and opening up you commit to respecting that by not judging, showing understanding and compassion and keeping it to yourself.

  • You must follow the rules of the road at all times.

  • Helmets are essential - no lid, no ride.

  • Your bike must be in a good condition and appropriate for the ride in question.

  • Please ensure you come with the right tools and spares to support yourself, or perhaps another rider if needed.

  • At the start of the ride we will wait a maximum of five minutes before we roll out.  If you’re going to be a little later than that, please let us know.  However, please remember that this is everyone’s ride and if you’re going to be anymore than a few minutes late we ask you to be respectful of the ride and arrange to meet us en route, at the mid-ride stop or at the end.

  • If you’d like to join a ride, firstly that’s great, I can’t wait to see you; can you please state so by clicking on the “I’m in” button in the Strava ride page. If you have said you are and then change your mind please remove your name. Obviously this isn’t always possible as life throws things up last minute sometimes or things can become too much, but where you can, please do. It is used to inform me how many people are coming so I can plan better and helps with the rollout.

  • You know what your body needs and how much it needs, so please ensure you bring the suitable type and amount of nutrition and hydration with you. - You can get access to a discount with our supporters, Torq by subscribing to the website.

  • Please ensure you come in the right attire for the ride, although we’re no fashion parade having the right clothing for the ride in question is required. For Crew Rides, get your lycra and your cleats out; for Slow Rollers, it’s a lot more easy going. Amazing kit can be accessed at a 40% discount via our supporters, HIGH&OVER.

  • This is not about racing off and leaving people behind, we wait for people.  If you want to blast it for a whole ride, that’s not us.

  • This is an inclusive and equal space. Please be respectful of this. We do not tolerate anyone making someone feel less than, invalid or unsafe because of views shared. Remember, anyone can experience ill mental health, and it can take many forms; ultimately it’s about supporting that person wherever they are irrespective of the nature of their challenge.

  • Don’t be a dick.

  • Have fun.
