SLOW ROLLERS RIDES
Not all of us are budding Cav’s or Lizzie’s, some of us like to drink in the scenery we pass through. Cycling is for everyone, and sharing the fun of cycling, and the healing it can offer should be shared irrespective of your pace. With that in mind Centuries offers the Slow Rollers Club. The purpose of this is to just get out on our bikes, at a casual pace (no pressure), have a chit chat and enjoy a coffee and pastry.
August - Lewes
Sunday 11 August: Pharmacie Coffee Roasters, 11 Cliffe Industrial Est, Lewes BN8 6JL
Distance: 23.2 miles/37/3km. Elevation: 946ft/288.3m
I’m thrilled to announce the glorious return of the Slow Rollers rides!
Our first foray back into the land of the Slow Rollers starts/ends in Lewes. The ride will be led by good friend of Centuries, Chris. Chris has only been riding 18 months himself so is the perfect person to be leading out the ride, and this journey from beginner to ride leader is nothing short of amazing.
The route leaves the coffee shop and heads out east along the new A27 cycle path before ducking back inland at Wilmington and then through Arlington and Ripe before re-joining the path back to Lewes.
There’s a mid-ride pit stop at Arlington Tea Rooms (keep an eye out for the guinea pigs!) before a nice saunter back to to Pharmacie.
As with all Slow Rollers rides we keep things casual, from attire (you don’t have to wear lycra, but can if you choose), to speed, to climbing - this is about enjoying cycling in the company of others with shared life experiences at a sensible pace, enjoying the scenery and perhaps an ice cream or a cinnamon bun, if you want to go faster, or further then take a look at the Crew Rides.
I’ve spent a long time thinking about the best way to offer Slow Roller rides and I’m elated that Chris has put his hand up to enable it to come back.
I really hope you can make it.
